Our childcare program is incorporated into our home. We have chosen to utilize the living room as the main childcare room for children of all ages, and the dining room as an additional childcare space. The following are some photos of our current childcare set up.
This is an overview of our primary childcare area. We choose to arrange the space into different areas of interest in order to give the children choices, and to help Ms Correy with clean up.
Our dramatic play area is currently set up as a grocery market and kitchen. We use a combination of "play" items and real items whenever possible throughout our program. We do this in an effort to encourage the children's recognition of environmental print, and to bring a bit of our own home preferences into our areas. We do have a variety of dramatic play options and will change the focus of this area throughout each year.
We currently have these areas set up for individual and partner play. We have a variety of transportation items as well as a shelf with small motor and manipulatives to engage the children.
We provide a variety of blocks and buildables, which we change out frequently. We encourage the children to think outside the box and use all of our materials in ways that will challenge their creativity.
This area is set up for newly mobile and eagerly exploring infants. We have soft flooring and infant appropriate items in this area, which we change out frequently in order to keep the little ones interested and engaged. Of note: the Christmas trees will be down and the rooms will be slightly modified prior to our January 6th re-opening.
